홍필주 필립보 (1774-1801)

홍필주 필립보는 1774년 충청도 덕산의 양반 집안에서 태어났다. 1790년경 이존창에게 교리를 배워 입교한 뒤, 계모 강완숙 골룸바의 가르침과 모범을 따르며 신앙을 키웠다. 가족과 함께 한양으로 올라온 그는 1795년 강완숙이 주문모 신부를 집에 숨겨 보호하자 신부의 복사가 되어 교회 일을 도왔다. 강완숙과 홍필주의 집은 창동에서 인사동과 충훈부 후동 일대로 옮겨 가며 조선 교회의 중요한 거점이 되었다. 1801년 신유박해 때 체포된 홍필주는 혹독한 형벌 속에서 한때 마음이 흔들렸으나, 어머니의 권고로 다시 신앙을 굳게 고백하였다. 그는 1801년 10월 4일 서소문 밖에서 참수형으로 순교하였다.

Hong Pil-ju (Philip)

Hong Pil-ju, Philip, was born in 1774 to a yangban family in Deoksan, Chungcheong Province. Around 1790 he learned the Catholic faith from Yi Jon-chang and grew in faith under the teaching and example of his stepmother, Kang Wan-suk, Columba. After moving to Hanyang, he began serving Fr. Zhou Wenmo when Kang sheltered the priest in her home in 1795. As the family moved from Chang-dong to Insa-dong and then to the Chunghunbu Hudong area, their household became an important center of the Church in Joseon. Hong was arrested during the Sinyu Persecution. Though he briefly weakened under severe torture, his mother's words renewed his courage. He professed his faith and was beheaded outside the Small West Gate on October 4, 1801.

Hong Pil-ju (Felipe)

Hong Pil-ju, Felipe, nació en 1774 en una familia yangban de Deoksan, en la provincia de Chungcheong. Hacia 1790 conoció la fe católica por medio de Yi Jon-chang y creció en ella siguiendo la enseñanza y el ejemplo de su madrastra, Kang Wan-suk, Columba. Tras trasladarse a Hanyang, comenzó a servir al P. Zhou Wenmo cuando Kang lo acogió en su casa en 1795. A medida que la familia se mudó de Chang-dong a Insa-dong y después a la zona de Chunghunbu Hudong, su hogar se convirtió en un importante centro de la Iglesia en Joseon. Hong fue detenido durante la persecución de Sinyu. Aunque por un momento flaqueó bajo crueles tormentos, las palabras de su madre le devolvieron el valor. Profesó de nuevo su fe y fue decapitado fuera de la Pequeña Puerta del Oeste el 4 de octubre de 1801.

洪弼周（斐理伯）

洪弼周，圣名斐理伯，1774年出生于忠清道德山的两班家庭。约在1790年，他向李存昌学习教理而入教，并在继母姜完淑高隆巴的教导和榜样下日益坚定。迁居汉阳后，1795年姜完淑在家中庇护周文谟神父，洪弼周便担任神父的辅祭，协助教会事务。随着全家从仓洞迁往仁寺洞和忠勋府后洞一带，他们的家成为朝鲜教会的重要据点。1801年辛酉迫害期间，他被捕并遭受严刑，一度心志软弱，却因母亲的劝勉重新坚定地宣认信仰。1801年10月4日，他在西小门外被斩首殉道。
